This year, during Culture Week, we had a chance to learn about Japan. Children from Year 3 through to Year 6 were able to get involved in lots of fun, exciting activities linked to Japan and the culture of that country. Subjects across the curriculum were linked in to provide a range of unique experiences -for example in maths children learned to count in Japanese, haiku poems were studied in English and there was also some Japanese food tasting! The highlight of the week was probably our visitor, a professional textile designer, who led art lessons in our solar dome; children were able to learn new skills like block printing and marbling.
Children's work from the week was exhibited for parents to view after school the following week.
